The Rosa Moceniga is an ambitious project that the brand, The Merchant of Venice, specifically developed in order to honour a sophisticated flower that has an ancient heritage related to the Venetian perfumery tradition. The Moceniga Rose is native to China and is a rare and precious flower. Its name derives from the ancient Venetian family, Mocenigo. For over 200 years, the historic residence of the family in Alvisopoli, on the mainland of Venice, has been cultivating a garden devoted to this unique rose. Due to her friendship with JoséphineBonaparte, a true lover of this flower, Lucia Mocenigo originally imported this particular rose from France.
